🔒 Manchester Lock In: A Month of Fitness, Focus & Kho Kho

This August, Manchester Kho Kho Club took training to a whole new level with our first-ever Manchester Lock In — a month-long challenge designed to push boundaries, build discipline, and strengthen both body and mind.

With 15 participants stepping up to the test, the Lock In wasn’t just about kho kho — it was about proving consistency, resilience, and teamwork off the court.

💪 The Lock In Challenge

Each participant had to complete a strict daily and weekly regimen:

  • 🏋️‍♂️ One workout every day

  • 🚶 8,000 steps per day

  • 💧 2L of water per day

  • 🏃 One kho kho session per week

  • 🍔 Only one cheat meal per week

It demanded commitment, but the results spoke for themselves.

📊 The Numbers Don’t Lie

Over the month, the group achieved some truly staggering totals:

  • 🏃 500 km ran

  • 🏋️ 810,400 kg lifted

  • 👣 3,119,781 steps taken

Every drop of sweat added up — and by the end, players felt sharper, fitter, and more prepared for competition.

🏆 The Winners

After 4 weeks of relentless dedication:

  • 🥈 Runner Up: Dillon Kevat — winning a phone tripod

  • 🥇 Winner: Ameya Desai — taking home the trophy

Shivam presenting Dillon with his tripod
Shivam presenting Ameya with his trophy

Ameya’s story in particular showed the spirit of the Lock In: even after dislocating his shoulder, he still managed to finish the challenge. His grit and resilience made him a deserving champion.

🎉 The Finale at Trafford Sports Mela

The Lock In wrapped up with MKKC competing at the Trafford Sports Mela, where the difference was clear. Our players moved sharper, reacted quicker, and performed better than ever before — proof that the hard work had paid off.

At the end of the mela, we celebrated our participants, presenting Dillon and Ameya with their well-earned prizes. It was the perfect ending to a month of effort, growth, and achievement.

🔑 What We Learned

The Manchester Lock In wasn’t easy — but it showed what’s possible when we stay consistent, push our limits, and hold each other accountable.

And for MKKC, this is just the start. Bigger challenges, stronger players, and even greater moments are on the horizon.
