Pushing Limits & Building Legends: MKKC’s First Summer Training Camp

Updated: Aug 7, 2025

This past weekend, Manchester Kho Kho Club hosted its inaugural Summer Training Camp, bringing together players of all levels for an intense, inspiring day of learning, growth, and community.

Set against the buzz of summer and the energy of youth sport, the camp was more than just a training session — it was a statement of intent for where Kho Kho is heading in the UK.

🏃‍♂️ What We Did: Sweat, Skills, and Strategy

Led by England national coaches and experienced athletes, the camp focused on developing every aspect of the game:

  • Explosive dives & evasive movement

  • Pole turns, body positioning & footwork drills

  • Attack strategy & defensive decision-making

  • Team dynamics and match simulations

We welcomed new players and returning athletes alike, creating a space where beginners could learn from seasoned players — and where everyone could push their limits.

💡 More Than Just Training

What stood out most wasn’t just the drills — it was the attitude.

Players showed up eager to learn, hungry to improve, and open to pushing themselves. From intense fitness bursts to one-on-one coaching, the weekend showed what happens when commitment meets opportunity.

The camp also gave players the chance to:

  • Connect with other clubs

  • Learn from England team members

  • Understand what high-level Kho Kho looks and feels like

🎓 Recognition for the Grind

Every participant received a certificate of completion, but more importantly, they left with:

  • New techniques

  • Tactical insight

  • A stronger mindset

  • And the feeling of being part of something bigger

🔥 Where We're Going

At Manchester Kho Kho Club, we believe that grassroots development is the foundation of the sport’s future. This training camp was a major step in that mission — and the start of many more events to come.

We’re building not just a team, but a movement.

🗣️ What Participants Said

“I learned more in one days than I did in weeks of playing matches. Can’t wait for the next one!”— Camp Participant
“It was so nice meeting the whole team – loved seeing the energy and talent, especially in the new players. You can really see the hard work they’re putting in, and it was genuinely inspiring.”— Brij Haldania, KKFE Founder & Chairman
